The shadow of 2016 is gone for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Nothing would haunt them this time. North Carolina finally pushing past Gonzaga 71-65 to win the national championship it so famously missed last April. Would you believe a national champion going 4-for-27 from the 3-point line or missing 11 free throws? “I wanted to see this confetti fall on us,” Joel Berry II, who was named 2017 NCAA Final Four Most-Outstanding-Player, said when it was over Monday night. North Carolina now has six titles under their belt, three of which are under the coaching of Roy Williams. Williams received his 100th career NCAA Tournament win in an ultimate fashion. Tar Heels also become first team to win a title in four straight decades (1982, 1993, 2005-2009, and 2017). The Tar Heels won sweet redemption!
