On November 12, community members, parents, and veterans came to the school to watch the Veterans Day program put on by Mrs. Halsey and Mrs. Larson. The program started off with the Presentation of the Colors, The National Anthem (sang by the high school choir soprano/alto ensemble), and the Pledge of Allegiance led by the Preschool. Kindergarten-2nd grade sang “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” followed by “Yankee Doodle” by 3rd-5th grade, and “This Land is Your Land” by the 6th-8th grade choir. Up next was the 9th-12th grade band playing “Armed Forces on Parade.” After the band was done, the speaker, Lucas Lentsch, spoke about what it means to say, “Thank you for your service.” The program was closed by the band and chorus performing “God Bless America” and the retirement of the colors. The 4-H Club served juice and delicious desserts for the community.
