This year’s Wrestling Program is combining with the Woonsocket, Wessington Springs, Sanborn Central Black Hawks. The wrestlers started off slowly as their first tournament in Kimball was canceled due to the weather.

The JV wrestlers went to a tournament in Faulkton. They did not receive awards for this tournament, but it went very well as every wrestler got a win. On December 8th, the War Hawks traveled to Gregory for their first varsity tournament.

The team travels to practice at each of the towns. For example, this week the wrestlers travel to Wessington Springs to practice and next week they will stay in Wolsey. The Wrestlers have lots of potential this year due to only losing one senior last year (Colton Borah). The two returning seniors are looking forward to this year in wrestling, as you can see from the following quotes:

Tate Haider: “I feel like we will have many good wrestlers this year. We have many younger kids that have good potential. Practice is long when we have to drive to Springs every other week, but it will be worth it in the long run.”

Henry Eichstadt: “I think that we have a lot of talent and we will be really salty on the mats.”
