At Wolsey-Wessington School, our staff is always on the lookout for outstanding students who are working hard and going beyond what they are being asked to do. They pick a new group of “Soaring Students” every quarter. One particular student that I chose from the latest Soar Awards to interview was Logan Zemlicka.

This year Logan is a hard working senior working away to accomplish as much as possible before he starts his next chapter of life. Logan will be graduating in May of 2019 with his fellow classmates. Throughout his final year of high school, Logan has said that so far, it has been very short, but he is looking forward to the future. Logan was very surprised when he was honored with this award because he says he did not think he was doing anything different other than just being himself. He thinks that he received this award because he always has a positive attitude and is very kind to everyone around him. Logan said that he “feels very honored to receive this award because not many people are awarded this award, and it is awesome to see that I am toward the top of the list when it comes to ‘Soaring.'”
