The Wolsey-Wessington boys’ basketball team is off to a winning start with a record of 8-3. They just finished up with the 281 Conference where they finished with fourth place. In the first round, they played Sunshine Bible Academy where they won 76-41. In the second round, they lost to a tough Sanborn Central team 37-45. Then, in the third place game, they played Highmore-Harrold. They were looking to get revenge from earlier in the season, and the game came down the wire where the Warbirds lost 45-46. This is not what the boys were hoping for going into the 281, but they are ready to bounce back and have their best basketball ahead. Sophomore Jake Williams says, “We have had our ups and downs this year.”  Senior Mark Hamilton says, “Not everything will go as planned, but as long as we play together, we will be fine.” The Warbirds still have nine games until regions, and they look to finish the season in Aberdeen.
