On January 23rd, the one act play team of 64 students left at 8 AM from the school to head to Huron for their regional performance. Mrs. Fauth had no complaints about the team’s performance and thought each person did his or her part exactly how he or she was supposed to. Her favorite part of the play was the ending, intending to honor Sophie Scholl. Mrs. Fauth wrote the play about Sophie, who was a member of a well-known German World War II anti-Nazi resistance movement. At regionals, the judges voted for top superior, superior, and honorable mention awards. The top superior awards were given to Allyson Boomsma and Chantel Haider. A superior award was given to Abbigail Nickels. Honorable mention awards were awarded to Mark Hamilton, Raquel Nelson, McKenzie Hochhalter, Caleb Liebnow, and Tatum Carey. Overall, the team placed fifth out of eight schools, and Mrs. Fauth is very proud of them and the hard work they put in during the past few weeks. On January 24th, the team performed the play one more time for the public here in Wolsey. Mrs. Fauth was proud of the way it turned out. The sound failed at the end, but the team kept going and it turned out perfect. She is now excited to direct the next play coming up: the senior play on April 4th.
