Duke and North Carolina have always been a big rival in NCAA basketball. They will face off February 20. North Carolina will travel to Duke and they will play at 8 p.m.

These two teams played against each other for the first time on January 24, 1920 and have been rivals ever since. Since then they have played against each other 248 times. North Carolina has won 137 of these games while Duke has won 111 games. In 2003, this rival was named the “Hottest Rivalry” in college basketball. These two schools are only ten miles apart.  North Carolina is a public school while Duke is a private school.

These two teams combined have won 78% of the AAC regular season titles. They have also won 59% of the Titles. North Carolina is #3 on the winningest programs in Division 1 while Duke is #4. Duke and North Carolina have won over 28% of the national titles. On March 2, 1968, Duke won by one after going into three overtimes. Duke and North Carolina have many memorable games and will have many more to come in the next few years. The longest win streak between the two teams when playing each other is North Carolina with 16 wins.
